Breed: LC Chihuahua
Sex: Female
Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: Two months before her 4th birthday
Comments: Melody is my angel, and I hope that together we can help others to cope with and survive this disease.
Breed: Golden Retriever x Lab
Sex: Male
Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: 3 years old; he's adopted/rescued so I don't know his exact age
Comments: Kody is doing really well with his medicine. He loves to eat and be
petted; enjoys going jogging & hiking.
Breed: Bichon Frise
Sex: Male
Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: 10 years old
Comments: This is how you will usually find Buddy, just lounging around lapping up all the attention he can get. He's soooooo spoiled rotten, and he's such a cuddle doggie, he's my shadow. I don't know what I'd ever do without him now.
Breed: Samoyed
Sex: Female
Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: 8 1/2 years (January 1997)
Comments: Knika almost died because she was misdiagnosed with
acute renal failure. We immediately got a second opinion from our regular vet who recognized the high potassium and the low sodium levels as symptoms of Addison's. Knika went into an Addisonian crisis within days and was treated by an emergency vet. She was brought back from the brink of death in a 12 hour period.
Breed: Lab x Terrier
Sex: Female
Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: A little over 2 years old
Comments: Suzie is 5 and still frisky as a puppy thanks to her Percortan injections (and the University of Georgia Animal Hospital who diagnosed her with Addison's Disease). She's shy but sweet, and very happy to play beta dog to her alpha companion, Mollie.
