Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: 6 years old
Comments: Shasta was born July 17, 1990. She and her sister Daisy (also a GSP) are our "girls". As you can see, Shasta enjoys fishing (LOL) and hunting. She and Daisy most recently helped Dave bag 2 pheasants. Lucky for us, Shasta is a survivor as we love our girls!
Breed: Miniature Pincher
Sex: Female
Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: 3 1/2 years old (Aug. 99)
Comments: Lexus is the "alpha" of my three Minpins ~ very intelligent, loving and a super "sentry" who's always "on duty" except when she's under the bedcovers.
Breed: Great Dane
Sex: Male
Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: 2 years, 8 months old(Oct 8, 2000)
Comments: Hermes is the apple of my eye. After being a sick dog for all his life with no significant complaints - just the "I dont feel good" look all the time, finally in Oct of 2000 he almost died of renal failure. The vet was smart enough to pick up on Addison's. Hermes is now acting like a puppy for the first time in his life. Now my next biggest worry beside him is how to keep the ceiling fan on the ceiling.
Breed: Labrador Retriever
Sex: Female
Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: 12 weeks old
Comments: Loki is a typical puppy now on medication, tormenting our other 2 older dogs and chasing our 6 ferrets. She loves to go camping and has just started to try hunting (she absolutely loves this). This picture was taken on one of the few times she is not bouncing of the walls. She likes going to the vet and goes there twice a month for blood work - she is growing so fast that the florinef has to be adjusted every time. This dog is so active you would never know she has Addisons. She makes a good "Information Ambassador" for this disease. When we are out walking and talking to people they are surprised and start asking lots of questions. She is living up to her name Loki, who is the Norse God of trouble and mischief.
Breed: English Springer Spaniel
Sex: Female
Age Diagnosed w/Addison's: 9 years old
Comments: Rue was lucky in that her vet diagnosed her early. She has been on her meds for a little more than a month. We are sure that she will soon be back to her old self.
